The East Highland Way

The River Calder in beautiful Glen Banchor on the East Highland Way

This newly established route was enjoyed immensely when we walked it in Autumn 2010. There is so much historical interest with stunning scenery and although you are never far away from civilisation, on most days you feel that you are walking through the wilderness. Highly recommended!

Although not way marked, there are well trodden paths and with our comprehensive route notes, coupled with the Official Guide Book, the path is easy to follow. Of course, we always recommend that you take a compass/GPS on non-way marked trails.

The Annandale Way

Castle Loch in Lochmaben on the Annandale Way

This superb walk is not to be missed! As the River Annan whispers its way through the landscape, you achieve a real sense of peace and calm in this quiet and tranquil part of Scotland.

On this walk, it is easy to imagine times gone by since there is so much historical interest and a huge abundance of wildlife as well!

As part of a fantastic local Community Initiative, this walk is fully way marked with signposts/logos and is easy to follow.

The Arran Coastal Way

Arran Coastal Way on the way to Lochranza

One visit to the Isle of Arran is never enough!! This beautiful island deserves its description as 'Scotland in Miniature.'

It is a truly rewarding walk since it takes in some challenging sections and tide awareness is essential. However, it has been walked by many and always receives glowing reviews. It is well worth jumping on the ferry and experiencing all that Arran has to offer - breathtaking views, history, geology, wildlife and a great distillery too!

Although not fully way marked, you will be supplied with a Rucksack Readers Guide which gives comprehensive route notes as well as a wealth of information about the Arran Coastal Way.

Short Breaks in Scotland

Linlithgow Palace overlooking Linlithgow Loch

Nowadays, in a busy and hectic world, more people than ever want to take advantage of a short break. What better than to leave your work on a Friday night and look forward to getting away from it all for a weekend's walking in the beautiful Scottish countryside.

Based on our personal experience, we have put together a collection of mid-week and weekend breaks which we hope you will enjoy and will encourage you to come back to Scotland time and time again!

Please feel free to contact us on for any further information on this walk. Thank you.
