Rob Roy Way

Stag in Winter. Gemini Walks www.geminiwalks.comAs the name suggests the Rob Roy Way follows the path of many places linked with Scotland’s legendary outlaw Rob Roy MacGregor. This walk is steeped in clan history and has many interesting features including the Loch Katrine Water Scheme and the Pitlochry Fish Ladder and Dam amongst many more.

From the Lowland village of Drymen, the Rob Roy Way makes its way northwards passing by the picturesque waters of Loch Venachar, Loch Lubnaig, Loch Earn and Loch Tay. You will be delighted with a series of picturesque villages as you make your way into the Highlands to reach the bustling Perthshire tourist town of Pitlochry.

The Rob Roy Way is an official route and is signposted. We also supply you with the Rob Roy Way Rucksack Guide to help you along the Way. The route stretches for a total of 79 miles/127 km.

“On our travels up north, we pass by many of the villages on the Rob Roy Way and we are always made welcome for a pint in the Mhor 84, which used to be the famous Kingshouse Hotel in Balquidder (where our office dog Holly used to bark at their statue of Rob Roy MacGregor!).”  Julie Deans & Steve Higson
